GW2: Going for 1000 gold – Living World

Want to make a sweet profit for just a small investment? Buy specialty items from Guild Wars 2 Living World events.

Just to give you an example, the vendor for the toxic recipes is gone from Kessex Hills, today. Yesterday, those recipes were going for about their selling price – the price of 250 pristine toxic spores and 1 gold. Today, they’ve all at least doubled that price on the trading post. This happens over and over, again, with event items: Whether they’re recipes or minis of skins, they almost always go up significantly in value after the event is over.

This tends to hold true with even low-value items, such as the Giver and Celestial recipes you could get from gifts. They were extremely common during Wintersday and sold for about 3 copper – today, they’re selling for about 50 copper. That’s a hell of a return.

Usually, special event items go up in value a lot after the event is over. Don’t go bankrupt buying this stuff, but invest in some of it. It’s very likely to be worth your while.

Just a small uptick in my gold, today, but I have lots of stuff on the trading post. It’s all listed at a reasonable price and I have every confidence it will eventually sell.
