SWTOR: Free-to-play or pain-in-the—?

Electronic Arts’ (EA) Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) recently went “free-to-play” (F2P). The graphic below gives you an idea of what you get under EA’s F2P model. What you get is pretty much nothing except the storyline and a gameplay experience so hampered by cash store handicapping that it rapidly becomes more aggravation than it’s worth. It’s almost as if EA is trying to punish you for choosing the F2P option.

Leave it to Electronic Arts to turn a free-to-play game into a massive pain-in-the-ass.
