Have I ganked you?

Photography

Snow: Tilted, snowy trees

Sometimes I alter a photo a bit in Lightroom. I call this painting with Lightroom. The original photo is there, but it’s turned into something else by scaling up or scaling down certain settings in the photo.

This is the same as Photoshopping, because I’m graphically changing the image. There’s no cutting or pasting; no drawing or erasing elements; no adding backgrounds. But I do change the light or color or details. I’ll use the tools Lightroom gives me. I’m not above using Photoshop; I’m just not comfortable enough to employ it actively, just yet.

In the case of Tilted, snowy trees, I mostly brought up the whites and greatly heightened the detailing. It gives the effect of a colored drawing.

I like it. Hope you do, too.
