Portraiture: Eye, nose, lips

I’ll be going back into the studio, again, soon. Might be a week or so, but it’s happening. I’m excited.

When I was taking my studio portraiture class, ages ago before the pandemic, I got a lot of photo, and the nice thing is I think a lot of those photos are pretty decent. I’m hoping getting back in the studio will yield more decent and maybe better than decent work.

This photo is a cropped image from that class and it’s a good example of where I’m probably going with my portraiture. Standard head shots are nice, and I should definitely learn how to do classic head shots, but I want to try different things with my portraiture. Cropping photos in ways that make you examine different aspects of a person is one of those different ways.
