GW2: How to make 1000 gold – The Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic

Convenience. You know you love things that are convenient – mini marts, delivery pizza, ATMs – anything that saves you time you’re all for. So what if it costs a little more, you’ve saved 5 or 10 valuable minutes that can be better spent gaming. Yay!

And you love convenience in your games, too. Remember all those blimp and boat rides in WoW? So annoying, right? Fortunately, there are none of those kinds of time sinks in Guild Wars 2.  ArenaNet was pretty good about saving our time in the game for real gaming.

I’m all for anything that will save me time in the game and let me spend more time gaming, and that’s why, I recommend buying the Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic.

The Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic is basically an unlimited use, Basic Salvage Kit, with a 10% chance of salvaging rarer mats and a 20% chance of salvaging upgrades. Each use costs you 3 copper, so if you use the Basic Salvage Kits, which cost 88 copper and have 25 uses, the Salvage-o-Matic will save you money in the long run. But that’s a very, very long run, since Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic costs 800 gems, or about 72 gold, at current exchange prices. That’s a whole lot of Basic Salvage Kits.

But I still recommend it. Not so much to save you money, but just because it’s so convenient. Get one and you’ll rarely have to visit the kit merchant, again. That ends up saving a whole lot of time, time that’s better spent playing the game.

Yeah, I’ll pay for convenience, anytime, especially in my MMO.
