Have I ganked you?

Portraiture: Andy and stone wall

You might not think so from looking at my photos, so far, but I love taking photos of people. I’m not quite as bold as some photographers, so I’m reluctant to just snap people at random, at least in a recognizable way. Also, there’s no one close to me who is willing to let me photograph them whenever I want.

If I want to get better at portraiture–which I do–I’ll either have to hire a model, hopefully a cheap one, or join a photography club where members don’t mind if you take their photo. I’m currently looking for one. I’ll let you know when and if I find one.

In the meantime, my wife will sometimes let me take photos of her. Not always, but sometimes.

This is a photo I took in Montreal. I love this image. There’s only a minimal amount of post-processing–I used one of the Lightroom creative filters. I especially love the way the color tones of the wall compliment the tones of the model, AKA my wife, and her clothes.

I think it’s one of my better photos, so far.
