Getting close: Forgotten on the field

This is a baseball I found on a baseball field. I got down in the grass with it to take this photo. I thought the ball felt forgotten, maybe even abandoned, like its usefulness was over.

I wanted to convey that feeling with this image. I hope I succeeded.
